Project details

The park is part of a system of parks that are located along the Serchio River, which runs through the city. During the design phase, the goal was to create a place of leisure that would maintain the historical memory of the territory. We tried to characterize the new park as if it had always existed in the minds of visitors, through the choice of a suitable design, materials and shapes. The planting of the trees recalls the crops present in the surrounding countryside, consisting mainly of Populus alba and Populus nigra. The park offers spaces for play and relaxation, including small squares and artificial hills of geometric shape. In addition, large metal vases recall the use of traditional terracotta pots used in country houses.
